Bad luck in Faenza, positive Harfsen

Race report EMX125 Faenza, ONK Harfsen

The second round of the EMX125 championship was a setback for KTM Diga Junior Racing. Florian Miot, who was on the podium during the opening lap in England, injured his hand on Saturday. WMX rider TJ O'Hare was back on track on Sunday at the ONK in Harfsen where she finished a strong fourth.

The first GP in Faenza was a difficult task for both Miot and his team mate Daniel Volovich. Volovich couldn't find his rhythm in time practice and missed out on qualification. Florian set a decent time in free practice but went down hard in time practice.

Unfortunately the French 125cc champion hurt his hand in the process. In the first moto Miot was forced to retire early due to the pain in his hand. In order not to aggravate the injury any further the KTM Diga Junior Racing youngster didn't start in the second race.

In Harfsen, Holland TJ O'Hare registered a 4th and 3rd place. While this would have secured her an overall podium following the GP points scoring table the had to settle for fourth in the Dutch National ONK series.

Dirk Saelen, team manager: "Saturday things definitely didn't go our way in Faenza. On doctor's advice Florian did not start in the final moto. We are now doing everything we can to get him as fit as possible for the next race tomorrow. Congratulations to TJ, she rode to a nice result in Holland. If the small mistakes are corrected, she can certainly fight for the podium in the next races."

TJ O' Hare: "In the first moto I hit Shana's rear wheel in the first corner and crashed. From the very back I was able to come back to fourth. My start was much better in the second moto. I started second but made some mistakes in the beginning. Although I dropped back to 4th place I was still able to get back to third place eventually. All in all I was very satisfied with my riding and the bike. I know my fitness is good and it's cool to see that the hard working is paying off."
